Analisis Malmquist y DEA intertermporal de las agriculturas de la Union Europea AgEcon
Aldaz, Natalia; Millan, Joaquin A..
The trophodynamic cycle and growth of the albacore was studied. The different age forms are discussed in relation to various growth hypotheses, in particular the Walford method and the Harding-Chap-man method. Behaviour during capture is also discussed, particularly during troll line fishing, and its reaction to the bait.

Evidence for higher-than-average air temperatures after the 8.2 ka event provided by a Central European δ18O record ArchiMer

The so-called 8.2 ka event represents one of the most prominent cold climate anomalies during the Holocene warm period. Accordingly, several studies have addressed its trigger mechanisms, absolute dating and regional characteristics so far. However, knowledge about subsequent climate recovery is still limited although this might be essential for the understanding of rapid climatic changes. Here we present a new sub-decadally resolved and precisely dated oxygen isotope (5180) record for the interval between 7.7 and 8.7 ka BP 10(3) calendar years before AD 1950), derived from the calcareous valves of benthic ostracods preserved in the varved lake sediments of pre-Alpine Mondsee (Austria). Besides a clear reflection of the 8.2 ka event, showing a good...

This report compares the structure of production, the marketsn the professional organisation, competition for the resource, legislation and support systemat the community levell. Technical and statistical datas are summarized to représent the structure of the industry, the trade flows and the main evolutions of the two industries in the EC. A summary of the county reports gives an overview of the present state of the industry in each country and suggest a first evaluation of constraints and prospects. [NOT CONTROLLDED OCR]

Arbault, Suzanne; Lacroix, Nicole.
The object of this study is principally to compare the efficiency of 2 plankton nets (Gulf III encased and Bongo) used for the capture of fish eggs and larvae, especially Clupeidae and Engraulidae, in the Bay of Biscay (May 1974). Whereas the Gulf III is more efficient for the capture of eggs, the Bongo gives better results for the capture of larvae.

Effects of agricultural management practices on soil quality: A review of long-term experiments for Europe and China Organic Eprints
Bai, Zhanguo; Caspari, Thomas; Ruiperez Gonzalez, Maria; Batjes, Niels H.; Mäder, Paul; Bünemann, Else K.; de Goede, Ron; Brussaard, Lijbert; Xu, Minggang; Santos Ferreira, Carla Sofia.
In this paper we present effects of four paired agricultural management practices (organic matter (OM) addition versus no organic matter input, no-tillage (NT) versus conventional tillage, crop rotation versus monoculture, and organic agriculture versus conventional agriculture) on five key soil quality indicators, i.e., soil organic matter (SOM) content, pH, aggregate stability, earthworms (numbers) and crop yield. We have considered organic matter addition, no-tillage, crop rotation and organic agriculture as “promising practices”; no organic matter input, conventional tillage, monoculture and conventional farming were taken as the respective references or “standard practice” (baseline). Relative effects were analysed through indicator response ratio...
